The Acting Minister of Higher Education Delivered a Speech at a Grand Gathering in Herat University

During his official visit to Herat province, the Acting Minister of Higher Education, Honorable Sheikh-ul-Hadith Mawlavi Nida Mohammad Nadeem, delivered a speech at a large gathering held at Herat University. The event was attended by the Deputy Head of the Herat Ulema Council, the Head of Intelligence of the province, the Head of the Department of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, university leadership, lecturers, and hundreds of students.
The honorable minister spoke about the value of knowledge and stated that a person’s worth and dignity lie in knowledge.
He motioned lecturers as the nation’s greatest spiritual asset and affirmed that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) fully supports the country’s specialists and scholars and strives to create opportunities for their advancement and capacity building. He also urged the lecturers to sincerely and faithfully contribute to the intellectual, ideological, and professional training of students.
The Acting Minister of Higher Education called on the students of Herat University to remain committed to their studies and to maintain unity among themselves, not to be misled by the negative propaganda of the enemies.
The governor of Herat, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Mawlana Noor Ahmad Islamjar, expressed his gratitude for the minister’s visit and emphasized that higher education is the foundation of societal development.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Department for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in Herat, Sheikh Mawlawi Azizurrahman Muhajir, elaborated on the establishment of virtues and the elimination of vices for societal reform.
It is worth mentioning that during this visit, the acting minister also visited the Herat-based religious university of Mullah Ali Qari al-Harawi (may Allah have mercy on him). In a meeting with lecturers and scholars, he praised the progress of the institution and encouraged further efforts.
The minister also listened to the suggestions and concerns of the officials, lecturers, and scholars of the religious university and assured them of solutions.
